AI Meets Parametric Design: Earlier Structural Feedback, Faster Design Decisions
competitionline Akademie · Berlin, Germany

How can artificial intelligence become part of the architectural and structural design process, rather than remain a separate tool?
In a new feature published on 4 November 2026, competitionline introduces STERLING PRESSER Architects + Engineers’ approach to connecting AI with parametric modelling and structural analysis. Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI can interact with Rhino and Grasshopper, interpret analysis results and suggest design adjustments for architects and engineers to evaluate.
The approach creates an iterative feedback loop: model, structural analysis, AI interpretation, design proposal, model refinement and renewed analysis. Karamba3D and Raven AI are among the tools explored. The purpose is to test alternatives earlier while keeping professional judgement and design responsibility with the project team.
Live webinars with competitionline Akademie
Elke Sterling-Presser and Nicolas Sterling will demonstrate the workflow using two STERLING PRESSER projects, with practical examples, live demonstrations and a Q&A. Both sessions cover the same programme:
Thursday, 26 November 2026, 17:00 CET
Wednesday, 2 December 2026, 10:00 CET
Duration: 120 minutes per session.
